Welcome to November… the month that determines where you play in December and January.  The month where contenders become champions or runners-up… and where pretenders learn to count to six.  November is where memories are made with victories in rivalry games…but can also be cold to teams freefalling down the slope to a miserable offseason.  No more showing or moving…. it’s time to close.  Can your team lock up a conference, division or bowl?  If not, put that coffee down.

Virginia Tech at Miami– two schools in the Coastal Division going through middling .500 seasons…but each with the ability to advance to the ACC Title Game as North Carolina is ineligible and Duke is… well, Duke.  The Hokies have endured a rough slip from elite to 4-4 over the last month, but the Hurricanes have been the classic fool’s gold team since joining the ACC.  Teasing occasionally, disappointing mostly.  VT has had problems with turnovers all season (Logan Thomas has tossed 10 interceptions) while Miami has trouble stopping people (119th against the run and 116th overall).  Frank Beamer’s bunch made its reputation on smoked turkey legs, fantastic special teams and winning big on Thursday night… while the ‘Canes reputation has been as a team just good enough to lose.  Hokies hold on, 35-34.

Rest of Picks Tomorrow…
